The Benefits of Recycling or Upcycling

As a landscaping company, we love turning yards from outdated and overgrown to functional and beautiful. During the process of renovating your landscape, it’s inevitable that you’ll have both hardscape and softscape waste. Getting rid of this waste can make the task of updating daunting. Look on the bright side — this gives you the chance to recycle and upcycle.

Recycling is the process of converting waste into reusable material. Upcycling is a form of recycling that turns unwanted waste material into a better quality product. The way this plays into landscaping is that we can incorporate elements of your old yard and transform them into something better and more beautiful for your new yard.

Benefits

Saves you Money

Think about taking those old boards from that beaten up walkway and using the good pieces to create a swing. This feature can add value to your yard, and you just saved on all the material costs.

With upcycling, the possibilities are limited only to the materials you already have on hand and our combined imaginations.

Instead of throwing the old branches, logs, and other wood debris into the trash, homeowners can ask us to put these things though a shredder, turn them into mulch and place the mulch back into the yard. Not only is it a great fertilizer, but it is also a cost-effective way to cover flowerbeds.

Good for the Environment

When we create landscapes, we can set up a recycling center, if you choose. This process will remove waste products that would sit in a landfill. Our landscapers can coordinate with the home owner to incorporate any upcycling they have planned and then we properly dispose of all the remaining recyclable material.

Upcycling and recycling are great ways to think about two kinds of greens, the environment and the money in your wallet. Talk with a Thornton Landscaping expert about how to incorporate these ideas into your yard.
