Give your Garden a Raise

Add excitement to your landscape by giving your garden’s face a little lift.

A vertical garden draws the eye upward and adds an element of interest to any outdoor space. Consider adding climbers to your landscape such as vines and roses. They look spectacular winding their way up vine poles, garden obelisks, trellises, pergolas, arbors and even lampposts. For a quick pick-me up, try putting a vine pole inside a decorative container or leaning a trellis against a blank wall and planting a pretty climber.

Take your garden to new heights by training climbers to creep up the side of your house, or create a dramatic entrance over a doorway. Add a splash of color to a neglected corner of your yard by placing an arbor smothered in blooms over a cozy garden bench or an arch over a pathway to take it from ordinary to extraordinary.

Easy to Grow Climbers for Your Vertical Garden Include:

  • The Eden climbing rose has prolific blooms in pale pink, creamy white and soft yellow.
  • The Don Juan climbing rose is stunning with scarlet flowers and deep green foliage.
  • Mandeville vines are beautiful annuals that grow quickly and bloom a tremendous red and deep pink flower. Although stunning, they are treated as annuals in some colder climates so be sure to read the labels.
  • Clematis is versatile, hardy, disease resistant and available in a variety of bloom colors, shapes, heights and seasons.Trumpet vine is a fast-growing, hardy choice for a vertical space.
