Try Greenscaping To Save Water and Money

Did you know… According to the Environmental Protection Agency, up to 60 percent of all household water used in the summer months is for landscaping purposes.

The EPA is recommending that you try to "Greenscape" your lawn in an effort to preserve natural resources, like water.

Greenscaping and other water conservation activities can help save more than water & it can also save you money throughout the year.

There Are Some Quick Greenscaping Tips to Follow That Will Help You Conserve Your Water Supply This Summer Season:

  • Use soaker hoses or drip irrigation on beds
  • Use an outdoor water timer
  • Water your plants in the morning to avoid quick evaporation and the growth of mold or plant diseases
  • Use the rain… redirect down spouts into the lawn, rain garden, or rain barrel
  • Use compost and mulch to reduce erosion on the turf
  • Let the soil dry in between watering
Proper care for your lawn and garden can take a ton of time and money, especially in the humid summer months. This summer, try these tips to reduce water use, waste, and loss. Contact us for help with preserving your lawn and garden in ways that are environmentally conscious and easy to execute.
